Host Institution in Togo

My job is such that I have an American embassy “post” and a local institution “host.” I work with both on a daily basis.

My host institution is called the Direction des Formations, or teacher-training department, at the University of Lome. It’s been a fairly supportive home base for me as I organize events off campus. The English department has been rather quiet while I’ve been here: several teachers have retired and they have not yet been replaced. However, I work with two wonderful trainers who I’ve become very close to in my time here. They are Amivi and Christine (1st and 2nd photos, respectively, below). I’ve enjoyed talking with them as I’ve learned how to work in Togo.
